Upwork allow to use AI-tools to find areas for improvement for your Upwork profile including analytics.

Craft proposals

Upwork directly says you can use AI to generate tailored proposals that address client needs and highlight your unique selling points.

AI-grammar assistants

Allowed!

Chatbots and VA

Allowed! Yes, directly allowed

Using AI in work (in contracts).

Directly allowed: content generators, project management software, and design tools.

✅ Upwork (and Uma) does not punish or penalize you for using AI to write your cover letters and job descriptions

But don't forget to:

review and personalize the result.
do not send generic, copy-paste bids
don’t flood the platform with spammy AI-generated bids (for example that's why on Gigradar it's not allowed to send more than 300 similar bids per month for one type of jobs)

Also remember, that if your AI-written proposal claims expertise you don’t have, it violates Upwork’s misrepresentation policy.
