How to delegate or subcontract work to another freelancer on Upwork?

Part 1. Referrals

You are scared to bid and then refer another one?

You are scared to get an invitation and refer another one?

Don't be.

Upwork is saying us exactly:

When you decline a job invite, you will have the option to refer another freelancer on Upwork. To refer a freelancer, simply paste their profile URL or the email address that is associated with their account. If the email is not associated with an Upwork account, they will not receive the referral.

So just send the needed url of the freelancer in a chat,

Part 2. Contract is on one person and another person is going to work on it.

You can't do this for hourly contracts

You can do subcontracting for fixed-price and retainer contracts inside the agency.

Summary

For hourly contracts you can say: "Hey, here is my colleague, he will be doing a job, send him an offer/invite""

For fixed price contracts under the agency feel free to subcontract.
