Pay $1 and move your client outside Upwork.

Damn, I don't know why the idea to write this article came so late.
Did you know that it could cost $1 to go legally outside the Upwork?

So let's imagine, you are just a guy working with your client for already 2 months with a rate of 30$ per hour. What will happen if you or your client wants to move outside of Upwork? =>Your client will need to pay 8424$ to move out with you.

How did I count?

But! IF! YOU! were working with the client for 2 years, then the fee is 1$. Hurray.

To do that, your client should

go to All contracts

=>3 dots

=>turn the contract into full-time.

What else you need to know?

• The previous contract will still influence JSS
• no payment protection or anything else for moving outside contract money
• Feedback for the previous contracts will remain the same.

So if you were worrying about bans in this case - don't! Everything will be fine.
