The difference between "Hires" and "Hired" on Upwork

Do you know?:)
I've decided to write it after seeing a question on reddit. I'll write this article and send to this guy.

Let’s talk about those confusing numbers you see on Upwork job posts
You’ve probably seen things like Hires and Hired under job details and wondered what’s the difference
Here is an example of hired:

One more

And here is an example of hires

Here’s how it works
Hires means how many freelancers the client already hired for this job
Yes the job can still be open and yes they can keep hiring more people if they want
You might even see something like Hires 3 but the job is still active
That simply means they already hired three people but didn’t close the job yet
Now Hired means something else
It shows how many people were hired before the client closed the job
So if you see Hired 1 it means they hired one freelancer and then closed it
The trick here is simple
A job doesn’t disappear just because someone was hired
It only disappears after the client officially closes it
That’s it no rocket science just Upwork being Upwork
People ask, should we apply for the job with Hires? I wouldn't.
Hugs,
Tamara
