Freelancers in the US and UK have an additional advantages on Upwork. They can see (and apply) to the US-only and UK-only jobs based on their location.
These jobs are available only for them. And, of course, as you may understand, it's easier to win these jobs as there is no global competition.
Clients in these locations can choose an option to make their jobs available for only their own location.
People often ask me, is it worth it?
Yes, if you have a possibility to get the profile that could be verified in this location (of course VPN won't help!), you will get more job pools but not so many as you may thought.
