Recent Upwork Updates

Maybe you saw that there are many newbies on the first pages? Upwork went crazy.

Their console is showing that they are choosing 3 random profiles on each page right now, including the first one. Sad story as on the first page there are 3 boosts and 3 random guys and only 4 places left for the organic perspectives.

However, you may be noticing some strange invitations on your profile recently, even though you dropped off the first page. I'll explain :) You are the random guy, too, but on other searches. Mostly, they match your portfolio. Fairness in Upwork's eyes.

What do I think? I think it's a failed experiment and they will change it in 1 week (end of a sprint)

What to do right now?

You need to update your portfolio and put as many related keywords there as possible to become that random guy but in a desired search.

However for the other places rules are the same and you should follow them (basics, suggestions, green skills, related queries, updates).

The great example is how UITOP became first on most of the global searches for the product design and saas product design

I pass my congrats to Ivan and to Malevich team who helped them to became first.

In March their positions were almost in the middle of nowhere

In one month, already first wins, in 3 months, here we are.
